I have an orion (yeah I know) 600 watt amp that kicks out a 2 ohm stable & a set of pioneer 400w 12's, how do I wire them up so the ohm load is correct? right now the amp is bridged & I think it sux, but maybe thats because they are sitting in a bandpass box (use to have an astro)could be the old as equip. too. any suggestions?

You need to post the model # or spec. of the speakers.
Also, can you post the model # or spec. of the amp?
I'm guessing 300x2 at 2ohms or 600x1 at 4ohms...

Also, you may want to adjust the crossover point if it has a built-in crossover. Play with it a bit and if you still don't like the sound of it, get new gear.

If you keep them in the bandpass i say just run the amp in stereo, each sub should get atleast 250watts and should sound pretty good. Bandpass boxes dont need alot of power to slam. So i sugest keeping the amp you have and run it in stereo

Screw the stereo BS, go mono baby!!!

Just play with your gain setting and crossovers....if it's already bridged then you're good for the 600W power.

I'd burn that bandpass box and go ported!!!

I agree with the mono setting, after all its in the trunk u cant tell the difference... I do plan to ditch the bandpass its not doin anything but taking up too much trunk space. I was thinkin of just using one 10"kenwood dbx in a ported box. anyother suggestions for the trunk speaker setup?

i gotta an idea

i don't think its the amp or how its wired....but it has to do witht he subs and the box...they may have sounded great in bandpass....but only cause it was in such and open area....in a trunk bandpass sounds much different...get you a sealed box and ditch the bandpass cause its only good for a small range of notes....

not trying to flame just my 2 cents
