How do you protect your Viper LCD pagers?

These things are worse than glass...countless shops told me they break easily and it only needs one good drop for it to happen. haha one guy opened his desk drawer and showed me 50 viper pagers that were broken. They are expensive to replace. I had a close call today and ended up getting a nice crack in the screen.

Im thinking about getting some kind of leather cover for it but as far as I know there are not any that are made for the LCD pagers. Im thinking of making some kind of custom leather protective case for it b/c I know I will drop my keys one day and I dont feel like paying $100 for a replacement pager. Anyone make or buy a case?

ALWAYS CLIP IT to your pocket. ALSO..dont have the whole world's keys on your keychain..it just makes it heavier and will make the impact HARDER. My mom drops her's all the time and she has everyone and their momma's keys on her keychain so her LCD looks F'ed UP. STILL works though amazingly..just can't see anything. LOL

I clip mine to my pants instead of the key chain. I drop my keys too often.

Aside from that...any decent shop should just give you a replacement unless its horrendously dismantled. God knows Ive ton it plenty of times when a customer had a problem. No need to pay money for em..

well yea but accidents do happen sometimes, I dont purposely drop them lol. My friend's viper pager broke last week after he dropped it on the concrete. It split in half and hes paying the store for another one b/c they are charging him. I just wanna avoid it.

I found a case on ebay and did the BIN for $15. Lemme know if you want the link anyone

I drop mine constantly. I am clumsy. Other than the speaker sounding funny, it still works like a champ. I have the 791xv. I was worried too and bought a second remote, it sits in my safe along with all of the other duplicate remotes. I am not saying I haven't heard the same stories, I have, it is just that I have had an opposite experience. Buy a backup, if it fails you will always have another to use while it is being warrantied or exchanged.

i usually leave my remote hanging outside the pocket of my jeans. it's a little scratched up and gets dropped once in a long while....but it works fine. i got the 791 as well.
