New Head Unit hook up help...
So I was just given an Alpine IVA-D310 today. I went to wal-mart...Yea I said it, Wal-Mart, and pickud up the wire harnes, mounting kit, and a 1500 watt amp hook up kit from Scosche. I get my center vents, change holder (A.K.A. Ashtray), and climate control out of the car.
I stsrt to run the wires for the Brain of my IVA-D310 and come to realize, due to the fact that there is a DVD player in this unit, I have to hook up a Yellow and Black wire to the E-Break wire, and the yellow and green wire to my pedle break.
Now this is all fine a gravy, EXCEPT, I have Zero, Zip, Zilch Clue on where to find these wires.
Please help!!!! Does anyone have any Idea on where I can find these two wires so I can get my music back with some DVD and Navi going as well? Please help!!! Please!??!

Just get a PAC TR-7 black box so you can watch TV while the car is moving and you don't have to do that whole sequence (brake/e-brake/let go etc...) I have the W200 and it comes in handy when you want to adjust on the go. If you want to be cheap hook the brake pedal wire up as usual but put a toggle b/t the ebrake wire and a ground spot. Then all you have to do is press the brake, flip the toggle on then off, then let go of the brake pedal, then bam picture is on while driving. Also those wires are only needed to view video not audio CD's and NAV. My 2 cents

Thanks for your info. I might do the toggle switch thing. For now, Just ran into a new issue. The harness that I picked up, doesn't fit the plugs in the car. Now I am going to go the long way and hook it up directly... I belive I saw a post on how to do that. Let me go look...

Oh PLEASE just get the correct harness and do the install. Do not chop off the oem harnesses! You can easily use the one from wal-mart as all the harnesses are the same from 95+ (if not older)
Exchange it for another one at wal-mart.

lol... I didn't chop the wires in the car. I stopped the install and put the BOSE back in because I need to find the "GREEN" wire? for the pedle brake. I was under the dash looking around and found a few green wires. I don't want to cut into the wrong wire. I cauldn't figure out which one was which due to the aftermarket s****y install of the remote started and alarm.
Let me ask... There are four plugs from the BOSE. Only two of them fit the harness I picked up. The harness is for 74+ Nissans. I grabed the right one?

Thats what what I got. It just seems to get stuck at a setain point. Not all the way in. You know? I will have to go and retry. Post some pics as well.
So I had to edit this post.
Here is the deal, I was just reading some posts on page 8 or 9. Come to find out that i am going to need to pick up some other harnesses to run the BOSE Speakers. So. My install has come to a complete stop untill I find these other harnesses. This sucks.

BTW, did you find a FAQ or something that tells you where the screws are and how to take the stock radio out? I tried searching but it was to no avail =/

I did see a thread on direct wire. It was for the 5th gen. If you have a 4th gen. the screws are easy to get to. This is what I did.
Removed the panel by gear shift.
Removed ashtray.
Removed climate control
There are all the screws. two on top, two on bottom. two on each side of the radio. These two will remove the radio from bracket.

So I found something out today. What this was is the fact that the Worcester MA. Best Buy car audio installer had no Idea that our STOCK BOSE radio has an extra harness for the bose speakers.
Just thought I would share that info.

You would like me to help how? What answer to the non existant question is it that you were looking for?
You dont think he is a moron? He does this for a living and on a car that has been in production for 12 YEARS and didnt realize something that simple?

I was just putting my two cents up in a post for those of us who don't know about the functionality of the BOSE set-up. When you do not go through any training for installs and never have pulled a BOSE headunit before, seeing the extra plugs kinda throws you off. All in all, the Alpine is in and working great. I did a bypass so I can watch the DVD in motion.
I didn't do the bypass. A buddy did.
Thanks for everyones thoughts and help.

I have searched and searched. I cant figure out how to remove my stock Bose head unit. I just want to replace the head unit to start. I know what I am doing, but just dont know the order of removal of the parts (i.e.-vents downward or ashtray up). I dont want to break something by forcing it. Any instructions would be appreiciated. I have a 2001 SE w/Bose. And I do believe that anyone that does installs for a living would know all that is needed to be known for a project, have someone to ask, or just not do it. Its common sense that 'morons' dont posess!
Thank You from a newbie that searched with no luck.
