UPS really sucks!

So I constantly ship my items well packaged through fedex and have yet to have a problem with them.

Recently I received 2 pairs of subs through UPS, and they were both packaged well and guess what? 1 of each of the subs was destroyed through shipping or circumstances prior to me receiving them. What kind of garbage!1! argh

Just thought I'd vent.

did you ever think that it was the seller trying to get claim money? That's what I think at least.

Yeah, I purchased a sub about 3 weeks ago and it was shipped through UPS. The outer box looked like it went to h3ll and back...fortunately the secondary box inside was not damaged. Nothing is worse than USPS though...mailed back an item through them on my lunch break...took it two weeks to get from MD to CA.

I like USPS priority and fedex, UPS seems like they throw boxes around like they are filled with nothing.

UPS is scary. I had a headunit shipped to me via UPS and I went to pick it up at the depot where they sort items and put them onto the trucks for delivery. WOW! there was a big conveyor belt moving packages along and the teenage workers that just didn't want to be there would pick one up throw it on a truck, or it would slip and drop to the ground, or they would toss it over to a coworker who wasn't a good catch. some of these had *fragile* on the boxes. nice work ups.

I used to work for ups back in the day, all of the boxes say fragile on them. Everyone ignores the fragile label as they all have it. Yes, they get smashed, they get dropped (at most 4ft), they get stepped on, etc. That's what happens when you pay someone little amounts of money and expect them to do a crap load of work in a little amount of time.

On the contrary I never had any received any damaged goods from them or fedex, but USPS I got a cracked speedometer cluster, and broken stick of RAM.

As long as you pack it well (expect it to be dropped and stepped on) it will make it through. I believe the shipper has to file the claim. Good luck getting it because you have to bring nice amount of evidence that it was packed well and that it was damaged during shipping. If there is no damage on the outside of box you get nothing but "have a nice day".

I ship boards through UPS all the time. They get there 99% of the time. They've only lost one, and once I provided the paypal receipt they sent me a check real quick.

maybe the packed the sub TOO well, making it a tad rigid. any drop can crack the basket, cause VC misalignment and all other crap.

Didn't you see Ace Ventura Pet detective? That's how UPS treats their boxes. Plus subs are heavy, they will drop those when the guy stacks them like the tower of Piza and tries to make it to your door in one shot.

i hate UPS with a passion, never had any good come from them...

i order off of newegg.com all the time, and if any of you order from there you know that they use to use Fedex but they switched to UPS. well any order i make now that comes through UPS always takes them a week or more, fedex use to get the packages to me in 3 days, not to mention they will drop off packages at 8 at night, i'm sorry when i ordered my computer i wanted it here the moment i got home from work so i could start building it right away, but i couldn't finish and had to wait another 8 hours at work to finish it when i got home.

UPS has also damaged plenty of computer parts on me several times, grrrr can't stand UPS they are the worst

It was wrapped up in old blankets and had a bunch of cushioning on the bottom of the box. The box was packed in pretty tight..

blankets...wtf is this a sleepover?
I used the $6 3/4" foam HD sells and it worked wonders for my AVA 15. I put 3 layers on the top and bottom, 21 on the sides and stuffd the corners with news paper and it maed it there in mint condition.

IT was packed in there REALLY well. Only thing I can think of is that he packed it TOO TIGHT . The box itself didn't have any bent corners or anything though...but probably cause the box was JAM PACKED.

blankets are actually not very soft especially when there packed in tight places like around subs in boxes i think the box was prob packed to tight and thats what caused the damage sounds to me like the seller didnt know how to package a box...

i worked at the ups store, and im guessing the damn blankets prolly messed it up. the boxes get thrown, dropped etc. etc. but everything that us at the store packed, nothing got broke. for a subwoofer, im guessing about 50 pounds. i would wrap it twice with small bubble wrap. wrap it twice with the big bubble wrap. im guessing its a 12" sub, i would put it in a 20x20x20 box which should give it 4" of popcorn cushion on everyside.... THATS how you pack a box.
