also, i was wondering if i had to run extra wire to connect the speakers and tweets to the xovers? and if not, do i just take the end of the factory wire that lead to the stock HU and connect that to the xover? or if not, how would i go about doing it? thanks. sorry for the newbie questions..

Yes, you should run new wire from the crossovers to the tweets/mids. The factory wiring can be extended to connect to the crossover. It's cheap, and your sanity will thank you when you're wiring stuff up.
