Hey,

I have a few questions

1. Before i start installing the db6500's im wondering if anyone has run into problems flush mounting the tweeters that come with the polk system in place of the bose tweeters without doing any cutting. Basically, is there enough room to do direct swap.

2. Does the factory bose system have its own crossovers, or did the bose amp send seprate signals to the woofer and the tweet's

3. What is most logical, incospicuos, and trouble-less place to secure the polk crossovers; that is, were will it NOT be seen and NOT make noise, and wont give me a migrane to put it there

I have done some looking so far but havent really found the answers i was looking for. Short direct responces would be much appreciated,
Thank you very much,
Mike

PS i will try to do and post a HOW TO for all its worth after its all done but i imagine a pretty direct process.

Notes

its a 02 max w/ bose
aftermarket deck installed
aftermarket amp will be done at later time
factory bose ****-amp has been bypassed
(its running direct from deck to speakers

I put my CDT Audio Tweeters in the stock pillar locations. I had to drill out the stock mounting holes a little to fit the screws that came with the speakers. No problems so far and the pillars went right back in place even though they were a b!t@h to get in. I also put the crossovers under the front seats. They are not in the way of the seat moving foward and back. Good Luck.

1) I mounted my CDT tweets in the stock locations with servo tape, they fit behind the stock pillar covers just fine

2) Separate Signals AFAIK

3) Behind the kick panels. Easy to get to, provides a safe and hidden location for the crossovers.

Don't forget to make/buy speaker mounting rings before you get too far into the install!

It's not recommended to run these off the bose amp.
