4-channel Amp Rca Colors?

im trying to remember when hooking up 4 channel amp to head unit what wires match up?

i believe
1 = driver front (front/left)
2 = passenger front (front/right)
3 = driver rear (back/left)
4 = passenger rear (back/right)

if that is wrong please correct me

but what im completely lost on is what color is which?
what channel number goes to what color on the wires?

hot pink, baby blue, royal purple, lemon yellow!

Seriously though, I wasn't aware there was an "official" color guideline. My RCA bundle just labels the connectors at the end with "FL", "FR", "RL", RR"

You could also get some colored electrical or nylon tape in various colors. =)

Whatever you attach to the HU make sure you match it to the amp.

I thought I was all set to begin installation of my amps, then I see that I need ANOTHER RCA cable, one plug for each speaker... sheesh. I hope there's room for 3 RCAs, a power cable and speaker wire under the trim.

There is. I've stuffed more along one side, and the power was a 1/0.

When I was putting in my mids and highs amp, actually Kevin did, I saw him use zip ties to mark which plug was which. 1 zip tie for CH 1, etc... It works in a pinch.

You have multi-colored electrical tape?

i was told that with auto audio wiring that the colors are actually assigned to channels as well, the problem was that i forgot which colors belonged to which channel...

i guess i will just mark it off myself and whateva colors i use for each channel will be the designated color in my car... my rca is a set of all 4 in one coil... that way its easier to get to the front from back.... and it has 4 colors already
