Pioneer CD-IB100II Ipod Adapter issue

Well I got the Ipod Adapter for my Premier 880 in conjunction with a 1st gen 4gb Nano. I plug the Ipod in, and nothing happens, even if I turn it on, the headunit does not detect it. I have the positive to the positive of the headunit harness, and the ground to the headunit grounding point. The other cables are connected exactly as descibed by the adapter manual. Should I shorten the length of the ground wire? I left it stock, which is more than 3 feet.

Anybody has experience on installing this on the Pioneer?

This link of the adapter:

This is the headunit:

I have latest Ipod Nano software 1.3.1, and this headunit list this adapter as compatible with it.

havent seen it on the pioneers, but i have seen 1 instance of it with an Alpine and a Nano - wouldnt take the Nano at all for some reason... I think if i remember correctly, it was some problem with the HU..

can you try another Ipod?

I believe you have to tun AUX on on your 880prs for it to work. Have you done that? And switch over to aux mode on the HU for it to get going. Otherwise it only looks for a cd changer through the IP Bus.

Btw, do you have a line driver or anything with your HU? Is it running to amps or does it power your interior speakers?

Sorry no line drivers. I run external amps, and I have the internal HU off. I will try turning on the AUX to see if that helps.
Turned on both Aux 1 and 2, and still nothing happens. I will see if I can get another Ipod with dock connectors to see if it works.

My HU is fine. It does not work with a 1st gen Ipod Nano. All my connections were good, and it worked with my friends 30gb Ipod, not sure what generation it is. Maybe I was reading the specifications wrong on Pioneers site, they should just list the Generations to specific Ipod models that work, instead of just saying Ipod Nano. I assume the 2nd gen Nano is compatible as I have found on some website with installs that it does.
Thanks for the suggestions.

Have you reset your unit yet? I had to do that when I installed mine. I have the first CDB thing.

No. It just mentioned that it works with the "new" Ipod Nano, or any Ipod with "dock connectors." I assumed any Ipod Nano with dock connectors.

I got the 2nd gen Nano on order, and I will be selling the 1st gen Nano.
