Need a head unit for my project car

Ok, I'm looking at picking up a Alpine IDA-X001 or a Pioneer DEH-7900B. Which would you guys recommend. The alpine looks hot, but the Pioneer has the bluetooth capablilty without spending the extra $200.

Also, for those who have the Alpine, does it work good with the 30 gig Ipod video. I saw a post on here the other day that said there were some issues with them. Thanks

go with the pioneer really no complaints about them besides some minor noise that can be fixed with extra grounding to the RCAs..

It's not always fixed just by grounding, unfortunately.

I vote Pio too though.

be warned the alpine ida x001 is an excellent unit, but it DOES NOT have a cd player, if you just want ipod support get teh ida x001 it has full ipod support and is extremely easy to navigate through, and has a ton of other features as well. Also, if you buy the ida x001, the supplied usb cable for the ipod only works with ipod video, you will need to buy the kce-422i i think is the model it has the Din > Ipod cable that will support EVERYTHING BUT the VIDEO ipod.

Thanks for the opinons guys. I'm planning on picking up the Pioneer. I doesn't look quite as cool as the Alpine, but I can't overlook the built-in bluetooth functions. Also, it does come with a cd player, just in case.

The KCE-422i works fine with video ipods (for music, not video). However, if there is something wierd about the IDA-X001, I dunno.
