the XXK siblings
got the 4150 hooked up, sending ~200 to the germs per side. they sound freakin awesome now. i crossed them around 65 or so and they take it like a champ with no distortion even at high volumes.

yeah. one side of his front stage cut off suddenly after making that bubbly noise. we were demoing our stuff at the SQ meet....he think it got overheated or something. but then again my germs was still going. we're running about the same amount of power to our sets.

Hell no, Id take external processing over built in anyday. Way too many limitations on HU ones. Unless your goin uber higher end .. ODR/F1/DRZ/etc.. Although with exception to the DRZ theyre all external, just proprietary to their respectable HU.

I've only had it in the car since Friday evening, but already I can navigate through it very easily. Pretty much got it dialed in now. I really don't mind not having a motorized face. I liked my CD7000, but I really do not like the whole multi-directional thing with the volume ****. I've had the unit since July of 06, so I was very used to it. There were so many times when I would accidentally get into the balance/non-fader menu when trying to move up or down a track and vice versa. Having actual buttons to do this is something I really missed. This was probably the main reason why I decided to switch to this unit. I do wish the display was a little more how it was on my CDA-9835, and CDA-7998. One thing I do not get is, what happened to the whole green illumination thing.....there is no setting for making all of the buttons green. Something good that I noticed was that the noise floor on this thing is way better than on my CD7000. When I have the volume all the way down I don't hear a thing.
By the way, Parag was right when he commented on how solid the unit feels.

I was very impressed by the CDE-9881... If the fit is that good on a bottom end unit... I can only imagine how impressed I'll be with the 9887... I guess I already am with the time I've spent messing with them at 6th Ave..
