nice install in that G.

i'm pretty sure he said ultimate. his doors are fully deadened. no sub...just a solid front stage getting 250 per side. it sounded pretty damn good. how much does a set usually go for mister don?

just spent 3 freakin hours fixing this "professional" install on this guy's 97 accord. he pulled into our shop wanting an oil change. so, while i was changing his oil...i see the damn power wire to his amps dangling VERY close to the exhaust manifold. a section of the wire insulation was already melted down. so after i lowered the car back onto the ground...i told him i tucked the wire back up top, and wrapped a few layers of electrical tape around where the insulation was melting off.

then he asked me to have a look at the install. (he gave me 10 bucks just to look. i can't complain.) that's where the fun begins...

i did a quick trace of the power wire...it went into the firewall with NO grommet. the "hi-fi" speaker wire they used from the amp to his sub was a damn orange extension wire! they grounded the amp to this thin panel, that wasnt really a solid connection to the chassis. so i redid all the wiring properly. the amp's gain was about 80%, bast boost was up all the way. i too retuned it for him.

sounded much better but his interior speakers came on and off with each bass hit. considering what a "wonderful" job they did in the trunk, i told the dude i'm going to pull the HU out and check. sure enough, the car harness and radio harness was connected very poorly. whoever installed it simply twisted the wires together and use a **** poor electrical tape to cover it. some of the wires was expose from the tape unwrapping.

i cut, soldered, and shrink wrapped everything...now no more sound cutting in and out, the bass hits cleaner with less distortion, and he won't have a fire under his hood/trunk. he's a loyal customer of our shop, so i only charged him 100 bucks for my labor and materials.

the 'pro' has 20 yrs experience doing audio...my ***!

Thats because nobody checks anything. I can only imagine what electricians would do in a residential house if they didn't have to pass 2 inspections before the permits are closed. Even then, I manage to find some bad mistakes.

hahaha...I told you if I DO like them I would gladly let you have an audition if you fork over for shipping Or you can try to find some to see for yourself...

One thing I will say is the QTS of 1.12 is a little hopeful (unless the magnet is REALLY weak). Judging by the motor size and the suspension strength (and dealing with woofers with high QTS values) I think its closer to .7-.9

Should still be kick ***, and I have 250rms to work with per woofer
