So I am watching X games right now. Have never watched it before. I just happened to turn it on when they were running rally. Sick addition to the program to be honest. Anyone else watch this?

yeah, like parag said these tweet sounds damn good...very warm and smooth even installed on axis. the woofers definately need some break in time, the suspension was pretty stiff out of the box. i think it'll sound better once everything is loosened up. even so, they pump out some nice bass. i have it crossed at 55 hz at the moment.

that said...there is definately something funky going on with the midrange placed off-axis in the doors. there's a wierd resonance in certain frequencies. in some songs it's not noticeable, more so in others. more than likely i'll move the mid somewhere else. as to where...not sure yet. i'm gonna give mister don another call soon.

ah how thoughtful of you kind sir.

does the midrange HAVE to be on axis? i talked to the installer about what we discussed on friday over the phone. he said yeah it CAN be an issue and something about it happened to his car in past installs but in his current car it's not a problem. then he said it's sometimes vehicle dependant.

he ran dyns in his old ride and didn't like them....said they were "laid back". makes me question him even more now...

No, actually perform better opff axis. But in your case PLD and the door cavity are what are hurting you the most.

Which shop is this? Is he an idiot? Laid back? Yes a bit, but he certainly sounds like a newb nonetheless, especially if he is saying DLS is more forward than the Dyns ...

Ok, tires got put on today. Nitto 555 235/40/18's:

They don't look as bulky to me anymore. Not perfect but they will do. I have owned these tires before and liked them. All of my road noise is gone. Now to get new rotors and get ride of this damn shake under braking.

Oh yeah, one more thing. They put this uber slick tire shine on the tire. I hate it. It may look good, but your can tell it is on there when taking corners. I can't wait for it to wear off.

Well guys, thought I'd show-off my my cheap components ...and of course a few other goodies. Hopefully in a couple of weeks, I'll have a full build-log thread started. I'm gonna be trying out 2 different sub stages, to decide what I like better (both of off a SX 1250.1)

Here they are...Rainbow X-lines w/ 8" midbass. They will be powered by a Kicker SX 400.2

These things are super thin, and light as a feather...

Here's the sub choices...

(2) 12" RE SE's...'05-'06 models when they were made in the USA w/ USA coils...these have never seen power

(1) 15" Adire Audio Tumult D2...this has also never seen power, should be interesting being my 1st 15"...and having it tuned around 28hz

BTW...thanks for the speaker rings. I can't wait to get everything installed. I need to order some more deadener. I thought the bulk pack was gonna be enough since I had some from before, but I think I'd rather have more than run out half way through.

Hurricanes are fun...we definatly need the rain in NC, so I would be happy to see one. Was it even a CAT 1?

well originally it was forecasted to reach cat 1, but it never did. it came in as a strong tropical storm. the entire area is getting some much needed rain. it's been raining in my area nonstop since 6AM or so.

Me too, just finished my last class yesterday. Didn't have to go to class, but had to submit our final term paper by midnight. Started it about 6pm, uploaded it about 11:30.

Got a month off until fall starts, then its another 9 credits, WHILE working full-time.

Nicely done!

There is no way I would be successfull if I worked full time. I have 9 classes total to graduate. No chance I am working though. Lots of pre planning made that an option though.

I barely finished school working part time. Definitely get props doing it full time. Nice little break, well deserved.
