ok i have 2 15's and a 1400watt amp.... i tried to bridge the subs but when i turn up my volume the power wire fuse blows...i have 10 guage wire running form the battery to the amp and i no i need to go with 6 guage but i havenbt changed it yet......when i bridge my subs i tkae the pos. of the left and right channel and the neg of left and right channels right........?????thats what i ahev been doing and it blows the fuse of the power wire........when i DONT bridge them my subs work fine and no matter how high i have the vlume turned up the power wire fuse does not blow....i no i am brigind them right and im almost positive that i need ot change the power wire to a thicker wire but i just want to make sure unless there is somehting else that i am not thinking of that could be causing this...........thanx you please respond soon.!!

Ok, wire gauge is important but do you also have the right fuse (amperage and quality)?

FYI: watts = volts (12v battery) X amps. Do the math to calculate the correct amperage for your power fuse.

i think ur bridging it wrong....let's say it's a two channel amp....u take the positive of the first channel and the negative of the second channel...or vice versa....

You definitely need larger wire, but rethink the way you are running the amp. Theoretically, a larger wire will = less resistance, which means more current (V=IR). Therefore you're probably still going to blow fuses. I think you may be bridging wrong as well, if you have a 4 channel amp, you want one sub on the front R Positive, and front left negative, and the same for the rear right pos, and rear left neg. Im not sure if thats what you meant or not, but thats how it should be. If by chance you are trying to bridge a 2 channel, and running 2ohms, then you are probably better off running left and right seperately. Im not a fan of running subs in parralel, I think its sloppier, and eats more amps that way.
