I have a non-bose max and was wondering if it would be possible to replace the tape HU and still be able to use the factory CD HU, by connecting the CD player to the tapedeck. Also the aftermarket HU is a Sony. thanks and take care.

You may be able to connect an acceassory to the CD cahnger inputs of the Sony. But you may need a special adapter. Also may need to speak to a Sony rep to find out for sure that this can be done. Otherwise you will need a selector module. Anything store bought - like the A/V selector boxes - would proably approach the cost of a double DIN CD/tape unit. So you will probably have to build this yourself. And then you won't have use of the headunits amps. So you will need an amp channel for every speaker.
