I have 300 watts @ 4ohms. 50x2 to the tweets and 50x2 to the mids the subs run a 1 ohm mono. Keep in mind zapcos stuff runs at 16 volts and are rated low. Acual test see them at about 167 watts @ 4 ohms.
Where did you come up with 3000 watts? and what is so significant about it?

Who told you that...it's not true. Besides by that rule that would mean 15 farad cap that I have I would need 15,000 watts...."why such a large cap?" Answer: Compititions require the car to be listend to with the engine off. Therefore I have an upgraded battery with a longer reserve life and immediate power on tap from the 15 farad cap.
Sweetsound: Thanks. Also thats the mb100 not cd700.

I'd love to hear your Nak MB100 turned up beyond 52 on the volume button. Just to see if it sounds as much like a POS as the one I had a year and a half ago. Their service techs and return people absolutely suck. But the install looks very clean. Good job.

My mb100 volume is no longer controlled by the button's on the head unit due to the zapco vfm, which is controlled via the 12 volt supply now molded into a volume control. However I have never noticed any crapy sound that you speak of. Infact at spring break nationals and through the session ive been getting very high scores,@sbn I got a 90/100 on tonality and 50/50 on imaging. Did you have the mb100 or the 45z? I know there have been many problems with the 45z but ive never heard anyone complain about the mb100. Maybe you had your gains to high. Also about there service ive also never heard any probs with the tech guys service or return. It's to bad you had a bad experience but from what ive heard they do a great job.

It was the MB100. Actually two of them, identical problems with both. Not the gains. I had two headunits. The Sony ES was supposed to be just for tape but it now has a changer and is my only HU. The Sony would play tapes considerably louder and cleaner than the Nak could play CD or FM. One comparison we did was with both tuned to the same FM station ao that the signal would be as similar as possible. Also the Nakamichi sounded the same no matter where the gains were set on the amps, except it noticable clipped at lower volume. This happened no matter which outputs were used. The installer spent an entire day or two trying to find something else in the system that could be causing the problem. By "the install looks very good", I mean your install.
