what car do you have?

you first say you've got a bose, then you say it's clarion...

those aren't the same thing.. you either have bose OR clarion...

and the CVA-1005 has only line level outputs if I remember correctly.

I would suggest you take the car to someone who knows what they're doing before you do any damage to that Alpine.

if the head unit IS bose, then yes, you'll need an interface harness to connect it to anything if you don't upgrade the entire system. if you've got the non-bose unit, you probably won't need an adaptor, but you'll need to figure out what you're doing before you go on.

first off you need to work on your reading skills......i said that i SOLD the alpine and have another deck......

secondly.....i did state that i had the bose.....and if you knew anything...clarion is the company that makes the HU'S for bose.....

and last but not least...i do know what i am doing....i have just heard so many different stories that you do..and you dont have to use it I wanted a defenite answer.....

thanks for replying though.....

I don't think that it is Matt's reading skill so much as your inability to write clearly without jumbling thoughts and facts. So to answer your question about the harness, yes, unless you want to build your own. Or as Matt said upgrade the entire system, speakers and amps as well as HU. Yes, I think Clarion makes the current Bose HU in the Nissans' but the Bose HU is still far different than an aftermarket Clarion.

I thought it was pretty clear.....and i think everyone knows clarion make the HU for the bose system.....why would i say i have the stock bose headunit...and put clarion in paranthesis????and what is not clear about me stating that i had a cva1005 but SOLD it??? that is very clear......once again thank you for your reply!!!

if you are removing the bose head unit, you will need to get the interface. line out converters will not work b/c the signal that leaves the back of the bose deck is not amplified, this is why each speaker has it's own individual amplifier. The interface converters usually range between 30 and 50 bucks, and are available at almost any commercial audio install show (ie circuit city, tweeter, or best buy). let me know how it goes.
