Ok so i took my brothers headunit out of his car and put it in mine and now my buddy and i were trying to put my HU in my bros car. We didnt have any manual or anything for my bros car so we had to just test out each cable to see which was power. So we hook it all up and when we turn on the car, the cd player acts like its ejecting a CD, pauses then acts like its accepting a CD. It does that each time you turn on the car. After that, you can load a CD and it accepts it fine, but the face plat doesnt light up or anything. I try the SRC button to turn it on, etc, no luck. Also try resseting it. no luck. doubled checked all fuses. Everythign was good. Whats up with the headunit? It was working fine in my car friday...
The headunit is a Kennwood KDC-2011s

i'm guessing that it has to do with the "illumination" wire. but i dunno...

 

I dont think there is an illumination button... and even when the CD is loaded it wont play. No sound. Doesnt matter what i push. Its like its not getting powere, even though i can load the CD and eject which means it has power....

 

i meant illumination wire. there's a wire that controls the illumination or whatever, i saw it when i was putting in my panasonic. anyway, if nothing else except the load/eject is working, then i don't really know what's wrong sorry bro

 

something similar to this happened to me... make sure the remote turn on is connected properly... i has switched this with the antenna... it was bad news... it still takes a CD, but doesnt turn on... hope it helps.
