Speaker Opinions

Anyone have an opinion on the Infinity Kappa 462.3cfp 4x6's, and the
Infinity Kappa 693.3i 6x9's? They'd go in a '94 gxe, thanks!

Had the 6x9 Kappa's in my first car. I loved them. I sold them to a friend when I got the maxima, and he still loves them. Over 4 years and still playing strong.

Good to hear! How is the bass response in the 6x9s? Not going to a get a sub for a while, so how do they handle?
Thanks.

The bass was pretty good. The 6x9 is a decent size speaker, so it has the ability to make good bass. And the infinity's did a great job of that, but I also had an amp running to them. Make sure your head unit or amp supplies enough power to them.

Shop around for price, I noticed that these speakers vary widely on price.

Thanks for the heads up on the price. I've only looked at crutchfield so far, $250 for rear and $150 for the fronts. The headunit is a Pioneer DEHP 5200, 45x4, should be okay.

As far as the 462 plates, I have them in my front doors, but they don't exactly fit in the speaker pods They are an excellent speaker and provide great clarity and power. Not much bass tho. Personally, I would rather have round speakers in the rear. 6x9's would have some great power back there and im sure you'll be happy with them because you'll prolly get more bass out of them. 6x9s must be bottom mounted. You have a GXE... do you have BOSE? If you dont then you wouldn't be able to install 6x9s without a BOSE Amplifier bracket. I removed mine and put in Infinity Kappa 652.3i 6.75" Speakers. They are amazing and have a cleaner sound than a bottom mounted 6x9. My .02

Thanks for the replies guys. I figure I can sacrafice a little bit of quality for some bass response, seeing as my speakers now are totally done for. So brand new kappas wont dissapoint me I'm hoping. Thanks! How much effort is involved with getting the fronts installed since its not a direct fit?

Ditto

I have the greeen Kappas all the way around. I have had the 4x6s for about five years, and just got the 6.75s at the last Crutchfield tent sale. I am not sure of the improvements on the new series, but the green ones should be much cheaper. I have a pioneer 35X4 amp on them and they are loud and amazingly clear. Nothing but good things to say about them.
