Help w/ stock stereo

Hey guys,
Got a quick question. Had my amp/sub installed and the guys who did it couldn't figure out the following: when you turn the stereo up pretty loud, stereo stops playing. The head unit is still on but no sound coming from the speakers. They un-wired the whole amp/sub system and still got the same thing. Is there a cut off circuit in the system if it is turned up loud? It really isn't that loud though cause the distortion is quite minimal. Thanks for your help in advance.

hey bud...I've seen this problem before. If it's the factory Nissan radio, you probably have a protection circuit somewhere. If all the speakers are cutting out, the circuit protection is in the head unit. If just the sub is cutting out, you have a circuit protected sub or amp. Check with the manufacturers of the aftermarket equipment. they should be able to tell you.
