HELP Alpine 7863 and my i30...

What will happen if i install this head unit in my car without an adapter? Is it even possible? ...I can't really justify spending money for the adapter unless something substantial is going to happen if I dont...Also, if i have to get an adapter is this the right one?http://www.sounddomain.com/shop/item...SAH4N&vq_id=-1
My car is a '96 i30t and the headunit is an alpine 7863...
Sorry for my old man like cheapness, but im a poor HS student and times are hard right now...

You need this adapter. Don't install your aftermarket radio without it. You WILL destroy it. Bose speakers have a 1 ohm impedence where as aftermarket speakers are only 4 ohms. If you can't afford it, stick with what you have until you can afford it.

wow are you serious about those speakers being 1 ohm?...I heard that before but i really didn't believe it....I looks like i will be getting the adapter...Dont want to run the h/u amp at 1 ohm as fun as it might be to see the h/u "cope"...
