Just bought a 91 Maxima and I have a few concerns about changes to the stereo system...

I have seen a lot of information about the Bose systems installed in 91 Maxima's, but mine has the Active Speaker (which I believe is Clarion) system. Are the speakers still 1 OHM? Do I still need to bypass the amp in the back if I put in after market speakers? What size speakers will fit in front and in back?

I would like to leave the factory head, replace the speakers with some newer ones, and put a CD 6 pack in the trunk... Does this model have the diversity antenna?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

 

If it's without Bose it should have 6.75's in back, and 4x6's in front. You don't have to bypass the rear amp. I believe they are 4ohm. Just slide in the trunk and read what it says on the bottom part of the speaker.
