Noise =\

Alright fellas,

What are the proper steps to go through to get rid of engine noise. It wasn't there when I just had one amp running my components but after I wired up my amp rack consisting of 2 V12s one .5 farad monster cap and 2 distributor blocks, I started getting engine noise

make sure all rca's and power wires are as far apart as nessacary and make sure you don't have any metal on metal... make sure the speakers magnet is away from as much metal as possible. Start there.

Actually I would start with your ground wires. Run both amps and the cap to the same ground. Make sure that the ground wires are at least as large as the power wires, and make sure the power wires are large enough. And don't forget to check that your ground is a good ground and tightly connected. If that doesn't fix it I would start checking the rest of the wiring. Good shielded RCA's shouldn't pick up power wire noise even if they do cross each other, but not all RCA's are high quality. The majority of engine noise can be traced back to the various grounds.
