I have a 96 Maxima with factory alarm. It does everything from arm/disarm, panic, door and trunk opening and even rolls the windows down. Problem is my car was in the service shop recently and now it doesn't beep when I arm/disarm it. Only the lights flash and the alarm works fine.

The mechanic doesn't want to fess up and I've already tried messing with the toggle switch with no luck.

Anyone have a manual or operating instructions. It's hard to tell when the alram is armed w/o the confirming beep.

uhm the factory alarms dont have a toggle switch...

 

Or maybe its the valet switch under the dash on the left of the driver's foot. I bought the car used, but the remotes are definitely Nissan, so don't know what else to call it.

 

was it a horn honk, or was it a siren chirp ? The factory alarms dont have a toggle switch or valet button.

 

Factory 'alarms' have nothing to control but the remote. Sounds like an addon to the OEM remote. Without info as to what unit it is exactly its kinda hard for us to help..
