Component Speakers for a 5th Gen?
My budget is about... $150-200... i was looking at these Polk Audio.. Any Advice?

ill be running them off a nice Alpine V12 MRV-F407
about 100watts x2 bridged..

Wait a second... the alpine only PUSHES out 60watts per channel.. and the nominal wattage for the SLCs is 100watts... Time to upgrade... or will that be ok for now?
But bridged into 4 ohm its 160watts... but arent they already 4ohm speakers? which bridging them together would equal a 2OHM Load?

You have 4 channels. Bridge 1+2 to one door, then bridge 3+4 to the opposite door. Those two channels, each stable at 4ohms, will be seeing 4ohms from the components. I am doing the same thing right now. If you are having some trouble with this, you might want to find someone that has experience in the area to either do it, or show you how.

Did you run new wires? or do you think that the stock wires can hold 160watts?
