Mounting AMP to Sub Box.. Good or Bad?

I have the Q-LOGIC sealed/vented single 12" sub box and was just wondering if I mount my amp to that box will it mess up the sound of the box?
I know that this would only make it easier for thieves but not really woried about them.

ummm...as long as you don't create air leaks (which you probably won't), you won't mess up the sound of the box.

You could destroy the amp though, over time they could rattle internals of the amp. but that's somewhat rare.

Bad, bad, bad.... for one simple reason. If your box gets stolen they get every thing. Trust me I've been down that road once.

I've run my amp on the back of my box for almost a year now - no problems at all.

If you plan on keeping the amp for a long time, I'd avoid it, because of the slow damage the vibrations will do.

I have mounted my amp to my sub enclosures for over 10 years (using the same amp) and I have never had any issues with the amp from vibrations.

I would keep them seperate, but you can put it on the box. I've seen alot of set-ups like that. Whatever you think is best. Good luck!

Pretty much every part of my car vibrates. My amp was built before most of the cars on here were even made and it has been in my trunk with no problems.

My amp is in the trunk (bot not mounted on the enclosure):

Depending on how hard you are pushing the amp and the size of the enclosure, the lack of cooling space might be problem. The previously mentioned ability for thieves to get everything in one big swipe is the other big downfall. I used U-bolts to mount my box to the rear metal bracket for the seat. It cannot be removed without taking out the back seat.

Both of my amps are way to big for concealed locations. So to the box they have always gone. I do find the screws backed out on occasion, but no issues related to the mounting.
