8" subs in a 3rd gen

I was cleaning out my storage unit and found an old 150w amp and 2 sealed boxes for 8" subs. This used to be in my old s10 a while back. I was just wondering if this would be worth putting in my trunk? I've seen some 8's for sale on here, but not sure if the amp would be powerful enough. I'm not even sure that 8's would be enough after looking at what's in everyone else's trunk. Let me know what ya'll think.

I think they are enough to blow your ear.

For a mid-size sedan, 8" sub is proper, 12" is way too much. You also need the enclosure, don't you?

yeah, I have the enclosures. I just want to know if the 150w amp I have would be sufficient for 8's in my car to move some air. Would it be worth the effort?
nismos, don't you have some 8" subs for sale?

It will sound better than the stock stereo. It isn't going to cost you anything extra, except wires and such. Might as well put them in there.

Well, I still have to get sum speakers, whatever they cost!

I've seen them from $30 and way on up, so I guess I could pry at least that much out of my cheapskate hands. I remember that setup sounding pretty good in my old s10, but it was a smaller space than the maxima. Regardless though, I think I might as well try.

Back in high school, I rode in some guy's prelude. He was running two 8" subs and it was enough to make me nausious, or maybe it was his driving. I'm not sure how much he was pushing, but yeah they'll beat 6x9's. I currently have an old 10" DVC powered by a measly 100 or so watts. The amp is rated 200w X 1 @ 4 ohms and I wired the sub in series for an 8 ohm load because the amp is not rated @ 2 ohms. It thumps plenty, too much bass is terrible for your ears. What you have is a good compromise, hook em up.

yeah, I want to enhance what I have already, not trying to blast my eardrums - I already did that years ago!
From what everyone is saying I guess I'll be able to accomplish that. Thanks for the replies!
