CD-IB100II ipod integration pioneer

i got my deck and everything installed and i don't know why or what my friend did wrong but my ipod wont power up nor any external source comes up.

if anyone has experience with this, can you help.

does black side of wire go into HU or does blue go into HU?

also, he said he doesn't think that there needs to be power cause he recalls that when it was in his car, there didn't need to be power.

any help would be appreciated.

Blue goes into the head unit. The ipod adapter needs constant power and ground separately, switched power runs through the IP Bus.

alright ill give this a try once im home from class.
where do i attached the power to? splice into a power wire going into the pioneer hu?

EDIT.

some guy left feedback on circuitcity saying-

Pioneer also wants u to hook the power up directlyto a power supply with not connected to the ignition..but i ignored that bc i dont want no power constantly runnin while my car is off...and it still works so yeah

maybe thats what my friend meant, he probally never ran a power supply but he plugged it in wrong. HOPEFULLY!

Completely retarded. Do what I said, or do it incorrectly, the choice is yours.

Not trying to be a d!ck but posting misinformation helps nobody.

Theres a 3-pin plug on the ipod adapter itself, only 2 of the pins are used (power and ground). The adapter comes with the wiring for this plug, and it sounds like whoever did your install needs to RTFM.
