for a true non-bose to bose transformation:
1. bose head unit...wire harness should plug straight in...
2. get four individual bose amp....
3. get four bose speaker and two tweeters...
4. need to run power and ground from the bose headunit to the individual amps...this is a complicated step...i can't think of a best way to put this in words yet so maybe someone else could...
i gots a quesiton to that...
I have the Bose system. And I want to get subs installed and a new head unit. Will I be able to do this without changing the bose speakers??? Some one please help me, ive had this ****in question for years... Plz help!

1. cable harness for radio...yes it will work with the bose harness cuz they are all the same...
2. bypass the bose amp...either cut it dead and just use the wires for the audio signal...or run new speaker wires to the individual amps....
that's basically it...i still have my bose speaker in the rear....i had changed out my front speakers a while back...just two days ago i change out the bose head unit...since the bose speakers have low load...i don't know if it will blow or if it would hurt the head unit...i doubt it because i've been using my amp to push my bose speakers for over a year now and i haven't blown it yet nor have i burnt my amp...so i think all is good..
I have an aftermarket HU with the non-Bose speakers and I know someone who doesn't need his Bose sub anymore. What's involved in switching my non-Bose sub for the Bose sub, using my aftermarket HU? Can I just bypass the sub that's built into the amp?

-u got aftermarket hu...
-u got non-bose speakers...
-u want to add a 5th gen bose sub with it's amplifier or without???
with the amplifier...
1. find a source of power and ground for the amp...
2. find a way to send signal from the hu to the amp...this can be accomplished many many ways...one is run the audio output from the hu to the audio input of the amp...but to amplify an already amplified signal will prob sound crappy...or another option is to run rca cord from ur hu and cut it on the other end...then tie into the amp's audio input...
3. i'm pretty sure u can bypass the amp...if u can...then buy an aftermarket amp and it would just be like any other sub install..

1. run power from battery to positive of amp...
2. run ground from the chassis to amp...no longer then 18 inch is recommended...
3. run small guage remote from the back of the deck into the power antenna wire (usually blue) to the remote of the amp...
4. run speaker wire from the sub to the amp...
5. run rca cord...away from the power wire...from the deck to the amp...
that should be all...
$50 for todays lesson...
thank you for stopping by...
please drive thru and make ur payment thru paypal to yellowbrother2@yahoo.com
hehe

There's a speaker that produces bass that is under the rear seat, and I really don't think it's a Bose. I assume it is not amplified. What would happen if I just used the existing wires from the old sub and bypassed the new sub's amplifier? Would it sound like crap, even though it's not being amplified twice? Or, would it not have enough power? There is no way to run an RCA cord from my HU and I'm not really interested in spending money on an aftermarket amp.
Thanks
