Ported enclosure

Hey Guys,

Well I was planning on making a ported enclosure. I already bought the tubes and soon will begin making the box (2' cubic per chamber). My question is, which way am I suppose to face the port and how much air space should there be in front of the port?

Thanks for the help.

I forgot to mention that the subs will face the trunk.

Wait what? Are you making a bandpass or what? Why should there be air space in FRONT of the port?

don't worry about dcman

but anyhow, what do you mean how much airspace in needed in front of the tube port? ideally the port and sub should face the same direction in a trunk application. me, i have my aeroports facing up sub firing back. i only did this because i wanted the box to be as slim as possible.

Thanks for your reply bro. What I mean about air space in front of the port is for example, Your ports are facing up right? How much of a gap should there be from the port and lid of your trunk? If the ports are too close to the lid that would'nt allow much air to get out correct?

Know I know that a port should never face the oposite way the sub is facing. I heard this is not good, but if I'm wrong please correct me.

So I just want to know what ways can a port be facing and how close can I put the port againts anything, i.e. back seats?

Thanks

well obviously you don't want to cover the ports. i think if you have a few inches of clearance you should be fine.
