Bose HU's from other years

I have read that the Bose 6 disc HU from 02-05 Pathfinders will work as a direct replacement in my 96 Maxima. Will units from gen 5 maximas also work in my gen 4?

Will an 07 from Pathfinder work?

Any input appreciated on what works and what doesn't.

Not sure which question you where answering!

I see that that the 5th gen will not fit. Found that answer elsewhere.

I believe the 05-07 unit out of the Pathfinder will fit, still a double din size unit with some sort of custom bracket or mods.

Sounds like they are all plug and play with the other year Bose systems, just a matter of mounting?
