Installing sub in 07 max w/o bose

My buddy has a 07 max and before I tear into the sub install is there anything I should look into first?? What do you use for the remote wire??? also is there an easier way to run the power wire through the firewall?? thanks.

by the way we're putting in a 12" JL w7 and a 500w/mono JL Amp

i assume auto? get under the driver side dash and look up towards the fender. there's an empty area where the clutch pedal would go through. it's just a bare metal that you can drill into. you can run the wire through this way. i did the same on my 6th gen.
