Alpine IVA-W505

Has n e one heard or seen the new alpine deck, dubbed the IVA-W505?? Looks NICE!!. Hopefully it will be out soon. Check it out. I can't figure out how to post pics so I found it here:http://shyamkol.blogspot.com/2008/01...nit-plays.html
Just do a google search. It looks like the w205 but it also adds album art, it plays divx files, and now your IPod Video files can play onscreen. Can't wait til the spring.

I installed a IVA-W205 in my buddy's G Coupe last month. Now that the W505 is coming out, he wants to sell his W205 and put in the W505. Looks like a great unit, and the bigger screen is alot nicer. I really like the interface of the W505 judging by the pictures I've seen. It looks clean, however I still don't like the Blackbird Nav that does not come with it and also the accuracy I've heard, sucks. Which is why I went with the AVN6610.

How long have you had that?? I want the w205 or 505 with the Blackbird b/c it would mostly stay in my max, but if the wife needed to find somewhere then I could eject it from the deck and put it in her Yukon. More so for functionality for me. I almost got the 6610 at one point. Then the w205 came out.

The W205 my buddy has had for a couple months maybe. Installed somewhere around the end of November if memory serves correctly. The 6610 I just bought from Jeff (burnurass), and awaiting delivery. Can't wait to play with this puppy. Let me know if you're interested in the W205 at all, I know my buddy will get the W505 when it's officially released especially if he has a buyer for the W205. Brand new used for a couple of months so far.

Let me know when you get the 6610. I wanna know what you really think when you get it installed and played with it for a while.

Once it arrives and I have it installed I will let you know. Burnurass might be able to give you a more immediate insight on the unit because that is who I'm getting it from.

After some poking around, it seems like the 505 doesn't have optical output, nor does it seem to control the older 701 processor. Maybe I won't be upgrading after all. =/

Edit: Well, I called Alpine tech support and the guy I spoke with was quite sure the 505 will have optical out and be able to control the 701 processor, so maybe there is hope after all.

I've had the 200 with the blackbird and docking station, sold it, and now i have the W205 with the new blackbird. Its a great unit, and I havent had any issues with accuracy. The only issue I've had with it is i have to reset it every once in a while. The bluetooth on it is nice too.

Just wondering how you like the car. I used to have a 2.5T and loved it. Never got a chance to get the "R". When I was leaving Germany I found out about the "R" and already had my 2.5T. So I never got a chance to drive one. Didn't have the car a year and some moron rear ends my wife with an F-150. Wife was alright, the car FUBARed. Never drove right again so we got rid of it.

Its a very unique car, with the crazy 4c adjustable suspension. The interior comfort is to die for compared to an M3 or S4.

Its not as fast as its rivals, but the crazy looks you get is definatly worth it. Dollar for Dollar when it comes to mods the HP is crazy expensive compared to other items.

But then again, the car stands out above many other Euro sedans. Really fun at the track, roadracing a volvo.

Nice whip!! Man do I miss my Volvo. Everytime I think about it I go drive my 03 6sp Majestic Blue Max and try to forget all about it. Real hard sometimes though.

I'm waiting on this one as well. OR maybe the eclipse 6620 or what ever the new one is. I can't really decide.

i think the eclipse is the better of the 2, but some of the features on this one make it a must for me.

505 + 701 + SSLD6 = win (hopefully)

did you go ahead an order the blackbird?

You'll have to post up some pictures and do a review once it's installed.

the alpine 701 multichannel processer... what are you thinking blackonblack98? I am interested to know what your plans are for a center channel location/speaker.

The Multichannel processor is confirmed to work via the ALpine rep I called today.

I"m probably gonna do the blackbird later. I have NO use for it, since I dont drive anywhere unknown frequently. I live in SF/Daly City, and am pretty savvy around the area.

But I'll post some pics and what nots.

Looks like crutchfield is the only place with them in stock. So i might be the first!
