Does anyone know how to wire 2k SE here??

Ok i am sure one of you can help me. I want to replace the ****ty *** bose 7 speaker system with an after market. Now i already ordered the SCOSHE kit from sounddomain.com. I want to put in a kenwood head unit, an alpine 9 band eq, a 5 channel amp in the back, want to replace the door speakers and in the trunk (behind the rear seat) put an open air sub. I dont want to do any crazy wiring.
Can someone please give me ideas on which factory wires i need to tap into? In my 94 se i made the mistake to run new wire from the amp to all the speakers,,,,PAIN IN THE NUTS that was,,,,,,
HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like the only wires you need to tap into are the spk wires. IF you have bose they are in a big bunch in the back plugged into the little bose amp. You can hook the amp up to the speakers thru these wires.. And of course there is the power wire and stuff behind thehead unnit but just go get a wire harness for that

Ok i will walk u thru it.
Maybe this should be a sticky too...

Removing the head unit and amp and sub

1.Remove center ac vent by pulling towards yourself and up. Then when it snaps loose yank it out.
2. Remove the shifter surround by taking out the coin tray and removing that screw. then pop the surround up.
3. Remove the 4 screws holding the ac and stereo bracket to the car. 2 on top 2 on bottom. Remove all the harness's from the back of the bose unit and the ac controls.
4. Either drill out or cut out the screws holding the bose head to the brackets cuz your *** aint getting those things out with a simple phillips bit..
5. Pull the sub grill off with a screwdriver and remove all of the bolts on the sub to remove it.
6. Remove the bose amp by undoing the 4 bolts holding it in adn remove the harness from the back of it

Running power and speaker wires
1. Run the power wire into the car by drilling thru the plate where the clutch would be... if u have a 5 spd your on your own
2.Run the power wires on one side and the signal wires on the other side of the car. Pull up the carpet panels to run the wire to the trunk.
3. If using an amp in the trunk to power the door speakers u can tap into all 4 speaker sets in the bose harness.
4. locate the harness and remove all the black tape. There are 8 or 9 sets of wires.. 4 of the sets have a white tube around them, the other 4 sets dont. One of these sets is for the speaker wires... i dont remember which but it will contain a blue and pink wire!
Locate all 4 sets of speaker wires (They will be twisted together)
Use a little cd player or somthing to test what wire goes to what speaker.. Or you could go based on color once you remove the stock speakers and see what color those wires are.
Use the signal wire from your new headunit as all the signal wires in the trunk no longer work since the head unit has been disconected

alot of this is self explanitory and im getting tired of typing...

Thanks for the directions Admam. A few more things what size speakers should i get? Some ppl say 6 1/2 some say 6.75"!!! Also which speakers do u recommend? Pioneer Infinity etc??

When you say "Use the signal wire from your new headunit as all the signal wires in the trunk no longer work since the head unit has been disconected" is that the remote wire you are talking about??

Hey thanks for all your help. I really appreciate it.

Do u have a web site or pics of your Maxima?

What does the "15.6 @ 88.5 mph" mean??

2000 Maxima SE Sunlit Sand
15.6 @ 88.5 mph

I would have to recommend NOT using ANY Factory wires in installing a new system. While factory is good for the factory systems, they are too small to handle the power. Also, DO NOT DRILL OUT OR CUT OUT THE SCREWS THAT HOLD IN THE HU!!!!! That is not needed AT ALL. While they may be tight, a screwdriver will remove them. If you need instructions for installing HU's, speakers, and amps, go to www.maximadriver.com to the How2 section. there are detailed instructions for doing so. Since you will be completely removing the Blose system, you can use these. Running new speaker wires while time consuming, are worth it in the end. If you need any help, there are quite a few people that have a few tricks up their sleeves for routing and running cables. Replacing the Bose is a job, and installing a new system is time comsuming, but not difficult. I would set aside a weekend to do it just in case you have any problems.

Time is not a problem. My weekends are always off, and since it's cold i cant do any house work outside. I rewired my 94 completely. Just stripped the whole inside and completed the installation in under 7 hours,,,alone I just figured that since its bose the wiring is going ot be top class. Perhaps thats not the case.

Now what guage wire do i need for the speakers??? And if i am running wire from the amp in the trunk to the door speakers,,,what happens to the tweets in the front pillars? Will i have to re-wire them as well???

Ya im talking about the remote on wire..
You can easily use the stock speaker wiring.. u wont notice the difference between stock and doing aftermarket wire.. after all COPPER IS COPPER!
I cant really recommend speakers, u gotta listen to them and see what you like, but infinitys are always really good! 6.5" fit no problem into the stock white housing just cut the little tab off first.. When u take apart the doors u will see what im talking about.
15.6 @ 88.5 means i did the quarter mile in that time at that mph.

I got some system pics here:

i see u have a 95 max.. the 2k max headunit is IMPOSSIBLE to remove with those little phillips screws.. I had to cut huge slots in mine and use a really large flat head to remove them.. Mingo had to drill his out.. Everyone has had to hack at those bastards.. and #2 I doubt he is going for a competition system and Copper is Copper
Stock wiring will be fine....

I'm sorry but I dont agree. Copper is NOT copper. The quality can change greatly, really affecting the sound. What gauge is the Bose wire? Anything smaller than 16 ga. is too small. Yes I have a 95, but my younger brother bought a 2001 A.E. with the Bose, and removed it with relative ease. All I'm saying is if you are going to take on a job like removing the Bose system, dont do it half way, and take the time to run new speaker wires. and with the improvements of using wire like Monster Cable 16ga. Oxygen free wire, I see no reason not too.

Will have to agree with Whitemax on the screws. I just replaced my 2k2 head unit yesterday. The screws were in there pretty good but if you get a "big" enough screwdriver that has a relatively large philips head, the screws come off pretty much with ease. Just apply some pressure into the screw so you don't strip it and after a small "click".. they come right off. I was able to remove these screws with no problem...
