Viper 5900 Alarm

Does anyone have the Viper 5900 installed in their Maxima? Just curious how it is and how well it works. Wondering if the windows/up down works from the key fob.

I just discovered you can get DEI Part # XK07 to bypass the immobilizer and not require a key for the remote start. This part should work with all DEI remote start alarms (Clifford, Viper, etc.).

I'm 95% sure I'm getting one put in sometime in the next few weeks. I'm waiting for a call back from my installer on the labor price. I'm going to pickup the alarm for around $210 shipped plus another $40 to $50 for the bypass.

Rough estimates:

$210 - alarm
$50 - bypass
$180 - labor

$440 - total

how well it works? they work perfectly when installed properly. and yes, xk07 will work fine for your year max. You'll need to add another DEI modual to retain your window roll down/up feature..

Just ordered the following for my Maxima:

DEI Viper 5900 SST Remote Start Alarm
DEI 520T - Backup Battery
2 x DEI 530T - Window Roll Up/Down Module
DEI XK07 - Immobilizer Bypass Module (No Key Required!)
DEI 508D - Dual Zone Motion Sensor (Radar)

I'm psyched. I am going to call to setup an appointment to get it installed. I think I'll try to get it done on Monday.

Congrats you just blew a lifetime warranty and theft deductible coverage.

'02+ doesnt need a 530T for windows if there is a competant installer doing the job.

XK07 is not a DEI piece, its a Trilogix unit and is sold by DEI. It works with Any system, not DEI specific.

Trilogix added more products. They have alot of D2Ds with the bypasses and DEI is marketing them. Theyre still manufacturing up in Canada.

the 530t is not neccessary on most 02-up maxima's. if you can put your key in to the driver's door and keep it turned to the side while activating the windows, you dont need a 530t. it can be justy wired in. or try holding the lock or unlock on the factory keyless keyfob to see if it will work.

i read somewhere that those motion sensors are a waste of money unless you have a convertible. any thoughts on this?

Why's that? I'm having it installed by a Viper certified installer...

Just need to be set properly and they can be quite effective.

And you didnt buy it from them. Do you buy it from an Authorized dealer? No, because theyre not permitted to be sold 'over the counter' and definately not shipped.

And this 'certified installer' should know how to work the windows without 530Ts. I mean hell its only been available to do so for 6 years ...

My personal $0.02:
I love DEI and their products. I would install a DEI RS/Alarm/Keyless over any other brand any day of the week. My only compliant (not really a complaint, per se) is that they are so well known, that the wire colors, bypasses, and ways to get around are well known to thieves. But most of that can be solved with a lot of black tape and loom.

lol

if a theif is good enough to know how to get around a DEI alarm, then they will know how to get around a compustar, codealarm, etc etc. Its all the same shi't.
