Double din adapter?

I have tried searching... but i must not be using the right phrases or something, so please don't flame me too hard.

I want to buy the pioneer FH-P8000BT

http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...ers/FH-P8000BT

It's a double din, but the people at crutchfield say that they don't have a mounting bracket/bezel to make this thing work, and I'd have to make my own. Surely other people have ran into this, and there is a mass produced product available, right? I'm just not finding it.

If anyone can let me know, that would be grand.

I have a 2000 maxima w/ bose, I'm ONLY wanting to replace the headunit. (i realize i have to get some integration adapter as well)

I know the pocket comes out, but what about the divider seperating the two single "dins"?? And crutchfield said that the bolts and stuff won't line up from the old radio and the new, will this solve that problem as well??

What about the 2k GXE kit?? Have you thought of that. It is OEM so it will look stock.

I would HARDLY call the Scosche kit a '100% perfect' color match. Far from it. Better than the black dash kits, but the GXE dash kit is the ONLY 100% perfect color match, and you get what you pay for.

jdmaxima, you cut out the divider between the two single dins in the Scosche kit. The holes will not line up regardless and it is simply trial and error drilling new holes in the factory brackets to get the new radio to line up with the scosche kit.

The GXE kit on the other hand will allow the radio to bolt right in. Because Nissan uses oversized factory double din units, the opening in the GXE kit is slightly taller than the new radio will be (see pic below), but nothing a small piece of ABS plastic wont fix, and it will look great after you do. (note the pic below does not yet have plastic covering the gap)

The most common places are Dave Burnette at SouthPoint Nissan in Texas, 1-888-254-6060 and tell him you are from the org. Or courtesyparts.com. Dave will probably be a couple bucks cheaper, and much better service. He is in the stickies in the generation-specific maxima forums above, but he works parts at SouthPoint Nissan in Austin and hooks up forum members with very good deals.

just cut out the middle part, a 2min job.

Host a pic so we can all see this 'perfect' color match, because unless you painted your scosche kit, or had one specially made from scosche, it is NOT a perfect color match, so please stop misleading other forum members.

Better yet ill post the pic so theres no excuses and we can end this right now.

GXE:

Scosche:

Now that its settled, please stop using the word perfect in the same sentence as scosche. As we can all see, the GXE kit is the one that is a PERFECT color match, not the Scosche, not to mention that the GXE kit flows with the lines of the A/C controls

kthxbye

I first bought the Scoshe (sp?) kit and once I saw it in the packaging, I knew there was no way I was putting that cheap thing in my car.

Just grabbed a d3 and also got a GXE kit.

Would it be possible to add the Metra kit (95-7417) as well? just for a nice border around it so that the gap isn't there.

Still waiting on deck delivery so I'm trying to install this once so that i dont have to remove this again.

Who's got the slickest looking GXE setup?

Thanks for all of you help ORG!

I got mine from Dave B. A little cheaper than buying from the stealership. His name and number are in post 7 of the thread.
