Holy BL !!!! SWEET

I got my BL in today! Man is it sweet! I heard the UPS truck pull up and ran to the door. I got it, opened it and went to 2 shops to get quotes on installing it.. The first store I get to the guy is like "what brand is this?" I said FI "who" FI "who" F.....I... He is like "oh ..ok.." then he goes and "inspects" the woofer, kinda tooted his nose up and was like "how many watts you running to it?" i was like 1000 to 1500, then hes like "oh so like 500RMS?" I said no 1000 to 1500 RMS..lol then he has this shocked look on his face and said "yeah I dont think this thing will take 1000-1500 RMS, I mean its got a big magnet, but i dont think it will handle that kinda power".... I felt a little disrespected so I got my Ish and went to the next place. funny thing is that guy carries RE Audio..

the next shop was like what is this? i told them and they were like sweet seems pretty sturdy, and they were real cool, so the 15min drive to the next city was well worth it so ill be letting them do the install.... i think Imma be the only guy in the city with a Fi.. YES

Do you guys think there is much of a difference between 3.5 cubic feet and 4 cubic feet, cause i think imma go with the 3.5 cubic foot box, cause I do want a little trunk left???

3.5 net is a good size for a 15. it can drop a bit lower in the 4 cubes though.

Glad your happy so far. Let me know if you need anything.

I love the shops that act like you don't know anything. They are my favorite. I tend to waste a ton of their time working on a new system for me. Then change my mind and have them do another with my bigger budget. Then I say thanks for the better half of your day. Hope you had as much fun as i did. Then leave.

does it really call for 3.5 with that amount of wattage. 3.5 is kind of big. are you going sealed/ported.

BL 15 – Ported box we recommend using 2.8-4 cubic feet @ 28-37Hz. Again use 12-16 square inches of vent area per cubic foot of volume.

3.5cf is perfect for that sub. The information above was copied from Fi's forum.

Be sure they can properly design and build a ported enclosure...You are going to lose a lot of output if you point up as well. If you can add shocks and remove the torsion bars to face it towards the rear...

Yo man I got an ED SP15 (very close subwoofer to your FI) running off a 1200 JBL, and the box i've always gone with for it is 3.8-3.9cu ft.

Its all preference, as long as there is no port noise then it is enough, I prefer lots of port area though if I want to make it as loud as possible...

For comparisons sake, I had my 8 in 1.3 cu. ft. with 27 square inches of port Pretty loud...

Personally for a 15 I would do 40-50ish...
