SQ? SQL? Need some help

sorry to bring this back but anyone know about the kicker cvt shallow 10"? Run's about 400rms and is nice and slim. Found a good deal so I was thinking about that since I'm getting the kickerzx700.5

Kicker makes pretty decent subs, they hit extremely hard and will really do well at producing a lot of noise, as far as sq goes, not all that much, but they can be much worse. I acually got a pair of those as well, DIRT cheap.

yeah I found one real cheap and I don't really need too much sound. Just enough to have a clean crisp bass back there. Think it's still better to go AA? I just want the best sub for the rock music. Something clean. also looking at the 10" solobaric. Heard that in a car audio store here and it hit real hard and sounded clean.

just cant decide. My roomate is a big audio guy. He says I might as well get something like the G5 if I want good quality and good sound quality. Tough decesions. I liked that G5 since it only takes .5cuft in a sealed enclosure to hit. Makes for a nice thin box along the back of the trunk.

ehhhh. id say stick with tens. wont use as much space, usually need less wattage, and you can fit two Sealed into a respectably sized box. the idq doesnt use much space but isnt a Volume woofer. respectable though. the other thing would be do you have enough amp to run two?

im prejudiced, personally to me the Old solo barics are some of the BEST small enclosure subs ever. I dont care what anyone says. it was one of those things that you did in an install for a friend AND couldnt meet the same results in other installs in your car with the same SPACE and POWER requirements that he did. ALBEIT they were in a hatchback metro, but those were some of the most punishing subs i had heard at that point.
But at that point i went to 6 JL Audio 10w6s so it was different classes
Id say locally go to as many stereo shops as you can take your music listen to ALOT of subs. Realizing what you want power wise stick to what your amplifier can power and boxes in about the size of what your willing to give up. Upon hearing something that BLOWS your mind begin to inquire online and see where we can fit in as far as helping you get something.
Personally i love bostons, but thats built on hearing their components and READING some of their reviews. Not a WIDELY used or distributed woofer so its gonna be WORK to hear one prior to purchase. BUT SOLOS are known the world over

The G5 is a nice sub. It will need 500+ watts to show its true potential. I would personally take a pair of Assasin 10's over a single G5 or the older Kicker Solobarics. I was a huge fan of those subs as well. I have owned 6 of them to be exact. I like the Assasins better. And they require less power. Just my 2 cents though.

ok well I only have 400w to give to the sub I think. I think the zx700.5 is 400 or 420 watts to the sub. Is the AA really that much better? It's only going to be one sub so I need good bass. I'm not running 2 10s.

how much you paying for the amp?
i still think you should get the power1000 if in the neighborhood of 380. Almost 800 on the sub channel and more than enough on the interiors.
but not a memphis fan lol. all personal taste brother all personal taste.

Ah, gotcha, sorry for my misunderstanding. Between the G5 and the Assasin, it is a toss up really. Either will fit the bill. Depends on which you can get for less $.

So tonight I invited my friends to the house. One was there doing some work on his ca so that was easy. Long and short of it, one has the AA Assasin's and the other a single G5, the G5 sounds just as good and has the ability to get louder. If they are close to the same price, that is what I would get. I am a huge AA fan, but the 2 are on different levels.
