04 w/ stock bose...adding sub!

I installed my sub and amp last nightt but I ran into a problem..It seems as if theres a limiter to where my bass turns off after a certain volume...Am I supposed to by-pass the factory amp...I need to know what color are the positive and negative color wires on the rear drivers side..

Can you just look at the terminals on the speaker?

Is it possible to add a stock Bose system to an 04 non-Bose system?? I heard the Bose systems were crappy but I think they sound better than the single-disc system in the Max... but anyway is it possible???

Maybe you could start you own thread? While it might be possible, for the money spent to do it I would rather add aftermarket everything and have it sounding better than bose.

Yeah I think you are right. That makes more sense. I just like Bose Systems and i wanted everything to look stock. But if they sound better than Bose might as well do it... afterall more people are concerned with the sound anyway.

honestly tho i think the bose system sound reallly good. its nice and classy and the bose sub doesnt make your trunk rattle. unless you want your neighbors to hear bass( the stock system can do that too).

Bose didnt have enough bass for me thats why I added a sub. You could adjust the sub any way you want, either ground rumbling bass or just a litte.

I always get mixed comments about the system... but you have to remember the system is only 320 watts thats not even more than my 500w Sony System but my cuz just got an 07 and the sound is sick!! I just really want my interior to look stock though.. not too concerned with extra bass cuz I was satisfied with the sound on the stock especially since the music I listen to is already enhanced. So.... I'll look in the audio section to see if anyone knows how to add the Bose system.

it would probably be a lot of wiring from the dash to the doors to the amp mount under the decklid in the trunk. probably be better [and better sounding imo] to get a a good 4 ch amp and run the wires yourself and change out the oem speakers in the doors and trunk. only reason i didnt do that is b/c i got bose on mine and added a sub.

I disagree. IF people were indeed more concerned with higher quality sound components then they wouldn't buy components from a company who never discloses any information on their products and Bose would not have a contract with just about every other automobile manufacturer on the planet. In fact, I would bet to say that if you did get the Bose equipment for your car then you would be better off when (if?) time comes to sell your car as more people are looking for that name.
