Sound Deadening

Does Sound Deadening material in the front doors really decreases noise levels? Which brand do you guys recommend?
Thanks.

Unless quite a few layers are used, no it doesnt. Most sound deadening mats out there reduce vibrations. In order to block noise, you need to use a foam sheating like carpet padding. It absorbs noise, unlike dynamat, which just blocks it. There are quite a few brands out there that are just as good as dynamat, but much cheaper. A brand called RAAMmat is about $69 for 50 sq ft. I've used it and its great.
