AMP repair help..capacitor question for electronics peeps.

i have an old amp i want to repair. i found the source of the problem. its a blown capacitor rated at 1000uf and 80v. i went to radio shack and they didn't have anything that matches that exactly. they are a bunch that have a higher uf rating, but non that were higher than 65v. EBAY has something close but i have to buy 150 at a time. anyone know what i can substitute for that cap and send me a link to purchase. thanks..

a buddy of mine says higher uf is better, but there is another cap right next to it with the exact same ratings. im not sure if they need to be the same size to work correctly.

i know nothing of this stuff, but it doesn't look hard to change the cap. solder, pull, resolder, so im gonna attempt to fix it for kicks.

higher uf outside the amp can be bigger, but internally I'd keep it the same. Try MCM Electronics.

I would definitely keep the same capacitance value, though you could change the voltage (to a higher rating) if necessary. Without more information, we really wouldn't be able to provide you with a link to a proper replacement. We'd need to know the technology of the cap (i.e. Aluminum Electrolytic, Tantalum, etc.), and its footprint (i.e. surface mount, through-hole, size). That being said, you should be able to find something that will work from one of these sites:
digikey
mouser
newark

not sure if anyone cares..but i dropped in the new caps and the amp is still blowing fuses. im just gonna give up on it and buy an external amp with 150-200 rms to power this old infinity basslink sub. thanks again for the help on cap questions.
