Speed/Volume Problem?

I've installed the OEM navigation system in my 02 I35 and now Im having volume issues (among other problems). As soon as I get below 45mph, the volume turns all the way up (and keeps trying to turn up even when I turn it down).

Also, I seem to have lost my steering wheel controls and my trip button no longer works to change the info screen to mpg, dte, ect.

Any thoughts for either of these problems?

Should have had a pro look at it. Steering will controls usually need to be integrated with an external unit. See Pacific Audio's line of products (PAC). Depending on the car and equipment, there are features which automatically increase volume based on road noise. That may not be an issue, but I have no idea what you are running.

Take it to a shop and let them fix it for you.

Its the stock stereo. I just switched from the 6Disc in-dash changer to navigation and installed the whole setup. I don't see why it would be any different from the 6cd stereo - all the connections are exactly the same.

Bump!

Also, my trip computer stopped working. I dont know how exactly it connects to the stereo, but I imagine its connected to the speed/volume control. I unplugged the whole harness from the stereo where the wire from the speed/volume goes into the stereo and the stereo still works. With the connector plugged in though, the stereo keeps turning all the way up whenever I hit the brakes.
