is it ok to run 2 smaller gauge wires to an amp insted of 1 larger one. for example two 10g wires instead of a single 8G??

as long as the wire can handle the amperage then your ok, but it seems like more trouble than its worth.

I have done it before. Used dual 4gauge b/c we didn't have any more budget for new wire. There will be no issue with doing this.

haha.im unemployed right now..so ghetto is all i can do.. . should i use 2 separate 20 amp fuses at the battery side(one on each power wire), lead them both into the external 40 A fuse that came with the amp? i think i can get my hands on a foot or 2 of 8 gauge wire to go from the amp side fuse to the power lead. ill use 8g for the ground also.

A 20 on each wire should be fine.

No problem. If you want to make it a bit more stealth, you can always loom or tape the two wires. I have done both with excellent results. Not to mention loom is cheap.
