I'd say that croser's pictures show its color accurately though, so did they put different color trim pieces in 2002-2003 Maximas? I have the manual climate control but my vent trim is the same color as the piece below his automatic climate control unit, which you can see in the pictures is much darker than the Scosche dash kit.

It does fit well, yeah the plastic seems flimsy but once it's in there I really doubt it's going to move. If you're worried about it drilling new holes into the OEM metal brackets would probably work.
Pics please?

Sometimes it looks the same color, most of the time it doesn't. In direct sunlight it usually looks the same color, and sometimes at dusk it does. All the rest of the time it looks lighter than the rest of the trim.

Yeah I'm happy enough with it, just pointing out that it's not a great color match in most lighting conditions if that's really important to anyone.

I'd rather pay uner $30.00 for the kit instead of $100+ for the GXE kit.. thats how I look at it.

My bluetooth microphone
sorry to bump this thread... looks great! I was wondering how you did the mounting for the bluetooth mic? That's a perfect spot for it. also wondering if anyone knows where i can find this a/c control unit. ebay doesn't have anything that does't look like it was dragged on concrete for 5 hours...

thanks!

I would try out different mic places first. As some poeple complain about how it sounds. I've been planning on moving it, but am just too lazy.

I just started with a small drill bit and worked my way up. Then I made it slightly too large. I just set the microphone in the hole, added a little silicone, and let it sit til firm.

i like running the mic into the a pillar and directional mounting it there that's what i did with my 4th gen. also use a step drill bit to make the whole if you have one. or as the op mentioned use larger and larger bits.

i just realized that this dash kit wouldn't work for me. my a/c and stereo trim (stock nav) are one piece... is there a kit available for that setup?

too big for normal double din stereos. you'll have about a 1/2" gap. That's what I have and I am looking for possible solutions..

I just got the scosche also and the color is a bit off. I'm tempted to paint the thing. I'll keep it in until I can find a junk yard GXE double din somewhere. It fits well but I just can't get over the slight color difference.
