I recently got a 500/1 Jl Slash series Mono amp. I switched the wired from my other amp to it and it wont work. The amp LED light will turn on but it will not power anything. If any of you guys know what might be wrong with it let me know. Thanks

 

i used to have a civic but i bought a maxima and it wont start, why not?

Grab a multimeter and start testing things...DC voltage of the power and remote (12-14 volts), Strength of your amp ground, AC voltage of the RCA inputs to make sure the amp has signal going in, and AC voltage of the speaker wire outputs (Both AC voltages should directly correlate the volume of your radio, increasing and decreasing accordingly.)

 

........make sure "signal sensing" is off?

ok I will explain more. Someone sold me the amp for 50. I tested and te light turned so I figured it was good. Yeah I know stupid. SO when I hook the amp up the green power light turns on but it does not push the speaker at all. It powers NOTHING. I have switched all the ***** and hit all the switches. I even set it ecatly how my other amp was. If you need more info just ask I can fill you in.

 

Pshh, 50 bucks for a 500/1 is pretty good.. doesnt it cost like 150 to send it to JL without a warranty to get it repaired? i paid like 300 for mine used damnit, i shoulda just went all out and gotten a 1000/1 :P
