Looking for Opinions on a Gauge placement.

So I want to install a voltage gauge in my car, but dont want it to be seen. Since I already have my satellite radio installed in my ash tray, I cannot put the gauge there. So I thought of this. I want to semi-flush mount it into my fuse box cover. I started to trim an extra cover, and this is what i have for now. Next I will fiberglass the gauge bottom so i can paint it and make it all smooth and matching in color. Any opinions?

i think you'd be much better off with something like this:

trying to mount a gauge type hidden seems like its working against itself.

what you've done so far looks pretty good for what it is though.

Kinda too late for that one, but thanks for the comment.
