Connect carputer to the reciever's aux?

Well I have a question to those people that have hooked up a carputer to their sound system in their car. What type of connection(s) did you use to connect the sound card to the aux input on the car.

I have done some research, and came across Auzentech Prelude sound card and such. And I'm not looking forward to that price of the Auzentech Prelude sound card.

Currently I'm running my stock bose system with aux input, and I'm planning on changing that out to some brand name receiver (pioneer, sony ect...) with aux input, preferably a rear aux input.

Can someone guide me in the right direction with this kind of setup.

most carputer users run headless. a computer can do anything a hu can do so running a head is fairly redundant.

For me, I don't think I will be using my computer all the time when I'm driving my car. One reason is that I live 2miles from where I work, and turning on the computer for only 2miles is a waste of time.

So I was thinking of changing my HU to some simple 1din size HU.

So if I do take this route, how do I wire everything up?

not sure exactly how you would do that. after giving it a quick thought it seems like running the outputs of the computer to the hu would be the way to do it, but it still doesn't make a whole lot of sense since your hu would be doing all the function anyway. you would end up with 2 separate circuits that do the same thing.

this depends a lot on your equipment and what you wish to accomplish. it could be as simple as running rcas off of the board to an amp to running an pci/usb sound card to amps to using the digital out to a sound processor to amps. here's a layout i did a while ago of how the output end of mine will be set up:

on the input side it will be a touchscreen and slim dvd/cd drive. check out the mp3car.com forums for more than you will ever want to know about carpc's.
