Phil Schoonover steps down
Phil Schoonover steps down
Well...if I'm posting this, it probably relates to my job.
Chairman, President, and CEO of Circuit City, Phil Schoonover stepped down today.

This guy was known for being a train wreck. So much so that since he worked for Best Buy for 9 years prior to Circuit City, rumors start flying on the forums, albeit unproven, that he was ruining CC to boost his BB stock, or still connected to BB somewhere along the line.
Who knows. People at a store level aren't complaining, I know that much. We'll see where things land. Hopefully for my own sake things don't get worse in the short term, because my job is a cake walk right now.

Tell that to Tweeter and CompUSA
(Even though tweeter was bought out and so still operational after filing bankruptcy)
Our stock hovers around $1.70 recently, after being near the $30 mark just over two years ago.
The grass is always greener. With more and more cars coming out that are hard to integrate anything, I feel like the big box stores are going to be on the losing end of the stick not doing custom work and carrying the limited selection of OEM integration that we do.

yeah but tweeter and compUSA didnt get half as big as BB and CC. Not only other shops, but dealerships, lo-jack etc are always looking for good installers, you'll be alright!
Or you could go get a degree in some field that actually makes good money, cus you and I both know this business doesn't pay for shiz (minus side work).
