Sony or Alpine?

I have an Alpine 7875 right now. I love it, but I love the looks of the sony M770 a lot more. If I switch to the Sony will I lose sound quality? Also the Sony has 5.5v Alpine has 4v. If you say Sony sucks, why does it suck? Don't just say Sony sucks because the whole world says it, have a reason. Thanks

Stick with Alpine or Eclipse stay away from Sony. What do you want, looks or sound quality.

MaximaDave, I want looks if that answers your question but I want a little bit of sound quality too. I dont want it to sound like no Koss or Awia.

This is in NO WAY representative of all girls, but most of the girls that I know just like the cool lights. They don't understand the features, sound quality, and money involved in a good deck. It's cool that my fiance has been around me for the past five years. During that time, she has seen me compete with an Eclipse that I used to have. She now knows more about mobile audio than most of my friends. That's the kind of girl you should marry. Hey wait, I am.

If it takes cool graphics, dancing lights, etc. to get some girls you need to try something different

The Clarion Pro Audio decks are good definately up there....

Let's see. My $300 Sony ES, w/copper chassis has lasted about 18 months so far. The $1000 Nakamichi lasted less than two weeks. My wife has had Kenwood and Clarion with trouble that started up within 6 months. And I have had an Alpine that performed beautifully for 10 years. I can't comment on others because I havn't owned them. But my Sony, and my Alpine are great decks, rotary volume **** for easy adjustment with out constant "beep, beep, beep."

I have owned two sony headunits in the past five years and I have to say that after about a year the things go crazy. Either the volume sticks and it wont go down or the lights fade in and out. If you want reliability go with the alpine. I've had mine over a year and a half and absolutely no problems. Also most amps will only accept up to four volts so if you have 5.5 it will sound the same as 4v
