Rainbow Tweets cut out........

when the music is turned up. Then comes back on when the volume is lowered after a min or two. Turn it back up and plays for a min then cuts off again. If i'm at normal volume levels, it plays fine. The mid bass is fine during this whole time, just the front tweets. It's the component set that Don was carrying 265.25NG I believe, hooked to the 4 channel iPaul. The amp doesn't get hot at all, and the headunit is an Eclipse 6610. What gives? It acts like it's overheating at the higher volumes, but normally all the speakers would cut out if it's an amp issue and the amp would probably turn off during the cooldown. Maybe it's the crossover that came with the component set or maybe even my settings on the amp, or crossover. I'm stumped......any ideas? Anything I should check? Thanks guys!

Had the same issue check your gain and or the 1k and 8k levels on your eq they will need to be lowered. Tweeter protection is kicking in because the music is too loud. Thank Don for this, he fixed my issue.

Indeed, it is tweeter protection kicking in. It is nothing faulty with the equipment, just the 'tuning'.
