Does anyone know anything about the connections between the steering wheel controls and navigation system? I installed the OEM nav system in my car and now the steering wheel controls for audio AND trip computer do not work. The cruise buttons work fine, but nothing else works.

Any ideas? I have a wire diagram but it's useless. It doesnt show wire colors or harness locations.

 

my guess is that you're missing a harness...some slight change from year to year or something.

 

Right now, there are are 2 connectors not plugged into the stereo. One doesn absolutely nothing if plugged in, and the other makes the volume turn all the way up (something to do with the speed controled volume). Obviously, both stereos (single DIN stereo that goes w/ navigation & the in-dash cd changer) were ment to use the steering wheel controls, but I just don't see what's missing. It should be plug/play because the main harness doesnt change from nav to non-nav models, right?

(Would it be possible to bypass the stereo for the trip computer button? Or does it have to go through the stereo?)
